DORA AND THE MCWANE CENTER

We met Dora at the McWane Center during spring break.  I was very afraid that Livi would be terrified, but she LOVED her!  It was such a fun day.  We saw Dora and then explored the McWane Center.  We had a great time, although I did discover that other kids can be a real pain in the butt!  Maybe I should say parents that don't watch their kids are a real pain in the butt.  Either way, I guess I need to get use to children running around with no regard to other people.

Not smiling, but she was super excited!

She loved the water.  Mommy did not like the other kids playing in the water!

Livi for a Day

I actually got to sit and watch Livi play today!  This was a pretty amazing moment for me, because she never plays by herself.  She usually needs me to play with her at all times.  I can't say that I blame her.  I mean, I am pretty cool.  Anyway, as I watched her, I thought how nice it would be to be a toddler for one day.  It would probably be the best day ever.  Actually, I think there should be a holiday for moms to be able to act like toddlers all day.  A few reasons why I would love to be Livi for a day:
Waking up at 5 in the morning and sitting on someone else's head would be way more fun than having it happen to me.
Throwing a huge fit because you don't get your way is so my style.
Tooting in public is funny.
Naptime is required.
Instead of washing clothes or making dinner, you are only expected to make animal sounds on command.
Ok, this list could go on forever.  At least I get to enjoy these things with her.  There is never a dull moment at our house!  Oh, I almost forgot the best part about being a toddler for a day.  My chubby ass legs would be sooooo cute!!!!!!!

New Table

I found an amazing website the other day.  Knock-Off Wood is a blog that takes high end furniture and teaches you how to make it.  I have desperately needed to make something lately, and seeing as how I currently do not have a sewing machine, I thought I would give this a try.  I did not cut my own wood, but I did every other step all on my own.  I am so proud of my little table!!!  I will post more pics when I put the stain on.

A Day Off!

Ryan and I were home together on Sunday!!!  This rarely happens, so we thought we would take advantage of it.  We had breakfast together in the morning and then, drumroll please. . . . I shaved my legs!!!! Yay me!!  This was a great accomplishment for me, but the best part of the day was our trip to the zoo with Livi.   It didn't go as I had planned, but Lu Lu had a blast.  My preferred path was messed up due to construction. Thus, causing lots of trial and error in finding the things we wanted to see.  After much walking and turning around, we finally found the monkeys.  Let me just say that this is what I had waited for all day.  Livi loves monkeys!  I couldn't wait for her to see a real live monkey and make her monkey sound!  As we walked up the path, we passed this nice little old lady who worked at the zoo.  She politely turned to us and said, "Do you know that the zoo is closed?".  SERIOUSLY!!!!  Thank goodness my child is too young to know she missed her favorite part of the zoo!

18 Months Review

Dear Livi,
You are such a big girl! This month you have done so much! You went down a slide all by yourself, you jumped with both feet, and you learned what a circle is! Your little vocabulary is constantly expanding, and your love for books grows every day. Daddy taught you how to pose and it is the most adorable thing I have ever seen! You are so very sweet (most of the time) and we are so proud of you!!!
